Biography

Prof. Georges Kaddoum, a Senior Member of IEEE, earned his Ph.D. with High Honors in signal processing and telecommunications from the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA), University of Toulouse, France, in 2009. He is currently serving as a professor and research director of the Resilient Machine Learning Institute (ReMI), as well as holding the Tier 2 Canada Research Chair at the École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), Université du Québec, Montréal, Canada. With a prolific academic career, Prof. Kaddoum has made significant contributions to the field of wireless communication networks, tactical communications, resource allocations, and network security. He has published over 300 journals, conference papers, and two book chapters, with eight pending patents. His achievements include receiving the Best Paper Awards at prestigious conferences such as the 2023 IEEE International Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC), the 2017 IEEE International Symposium on Personal Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), and the 2014 IEEE International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Computing, Networking, Communications (WIMOB). Additionally, he has been honored with the 2022 IEEE Technical Committee on Scalable Computing (TCSC) Award for Excellence (Middle Career Researcher) and the 2023 MITACS Award for Exceptional Leadership. Prof. Kaddoum’s excellence extends beyond his research accolades. He has been recognized for his outstanding contributions as a reviewer, receiving the IEEE Transactions on Communications Exemplary Reviewer Award multiple times in 2019, 2017, and 2015. Furthermore, he has been honored with Research Excellence Awards from both Université du Québec in 2018 and ÉTS in 2019. In the academic community, Prof. Kaddoum holds editorial positions as an Area Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Machine Learning in Communications and Networking, as well as an editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications. He has also served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security and IEEE Communications Letters.
